Frequently asked questions
Does Dracones work offline?
Yes. Every map and name is part of the app, so it works in airplane mode from the first launch. The app only goes online for anonymous usage counts, crash reports and purchases.
Do I need an account?
No. Your progress stays on your device. If leaderboards and challenges arrive later, an account will stay optional.
How do I restore my purchases?
Open Settings and tap Restore purchases. Purchases belong to your Apple Account or Google account, so they also come back on a new device. Your progress is stored on the device and is not part of that.
How do I change the borders?
Go to Settings, Map, Borders. The default is the position of the United Nations; with de facto control, an area belongs to the country that controls it. The quiz, the answer check and your score follow your choice.
Why are some borders dashed?
Dashed lines mark contested areas such as Crimea, Kashmir or Western Sahara. They are dashed in every view, so you always see that the line is disputed. Tap one to see who controls the area and who claims it.
Why are some areas hatched?
Hatched areas have no settled owner in the view you chose, for example Bir Tawil. They are on the map but never asked.
Why does Dracones ask for only 193 countries?
Dracones asks for the 193 member states of the United Nations. Other territories such as Kosovo, Taiwan or Greenland are drawn on the map but not asked.
I found a mistake on the map.
Thank you! Write to us with the place and what is wrong. Borders and names come from Natural Earth and Wikidata, and fixes ship with the next update.
